Pipevine Swallowtail on Cherries

Here is the completed painting of the native Oklahoma butterfly, the pipevine swallowtail on a bowl of cherries. This one is sold and will be spending some time drying before being varnished and then delivered to the new owner!

Easel Update

oday I have darkened the background, given both the cherries and bowl more form and added to the butterfly.

To increase my artwork production I intend to begin working on more than one painting at a time. I have always worked one primarily and waited until that is finished before beginning another. Times are changing and I am adopting some new ideas for my studio. Continue reading
