Artwork of the Day – March 29th
This acrylic painting is a rework of something I created about 4 years ago. I just felt it needed more. It is on a 12 x 12 inch gallery wrapped canvas and the color is on all sides. “Cone Flower”
Pipevine Swallowtail on Cherries
Here is the completed painting of the native Oklahoma butterfly, the pipevine swallowtail on a bowl of cherries. This one is sold and will be spending some time drying before being varnished and then delivered to the new owner!

This is a butterfly native to Oklahoma where I currently live. Looks like he is trying to find just the right cherry.

Balanced Composition in Painting
After discussion with a mentor friend of mine he suggested that I add an element to the lower right hand corner which in essence will provide a more balanced composition. Often I like the look of the unbalanced as it can provide tension in the painting, but this time I actually prefer this painting with the addition over the original posted below.
